I plugged your ingredients into this calculator http://www.brewmasterswarehouse.com/brew-builder using the parameters for an Old Ale and the numbers aren’t even close.  I’m wondering if you accidentally omitted more malt?

When I punch in the numbers (using corn sugar in place of cane sugar)  I get:

    OG 1.024
    FG 1.006
    IBU 17
    SRM 5.30
    ABV 2.36

Essentially this makes Budweiser Select 55 (a low-carb, low-alcohol crap-beer people actually pay money for)

    Interested in your thoughts

Mark, thanks for the feedback. I should point out the post is for a 2.5G batch I tried initially. I am assuming from your numbers above you were building a 5G recipe. I have created a 5G version and then updated as a partial mash which I posted on Hopville.

This has become one of the “house favorites” and I place in the keg regulary.

Thank you for the speedy reply (heading to the homebrew store this weekend….) The “revised” recipe look much more promising!  Looking forward to it!
